Congregants are encouraged to call their individual congregations if they have questions about event scheduling. It remains to be seen whether local churches will be asked to extend social distancing efforts beyond the end of the Month.
Many local churches are also offering online worship as an alternative to gathering in person, either through pre-recorded video or live streaming. The community is encouraged to find ways to continue to participate in church activities throughout the week. “We use the word ‘church’ in English to refer both to buildings and to the gathered group of people who are the body of Christ,” continued Pastor Carnahan. “While our church buildings may be empty, the Church in Phelps County is very much engaged and active in walking through this crisis.” ABOUT THE PHELPS COUNTY MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION: The Phelps County Ministerial Association (PCMA) is an organization that facilitates communication and cooperation between the Christian churches in Phelps County, Nebraska.
